When moving house it is important to get your figures right and to know what you can afford.  This calculator may help, but always check the figures manually before taking any final decision.

Note:  At present stamp duty is not charged where the price is £175,000 or less.  However from 6th September 2009, it will be charged where the price exceeds £125,000 unless government intentions change.
